The Universal Studio in Orlando is more than a theme park for children. Even adults who have been there couldn’t wait to visit again. Guess there is a willing suspension of disbelief here that adults are more than willing to accept. You can either try out the Universal Studio Rides with your children, or wander about the vast area of the Studio or book a dinner for two at one of its swanky restaurant. The Universal Studio is a joint venture between the NBC Universal and the Blackstone Group. There are two theme parks here namely the Universal Studio Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Ity The Universal City Walk is the perfect destination for nighttime activities. Out of all the University Studios, this is the largest property. The main objective of this park is that it lets you “ride the movies”. This is a totally new concept instead of the other rides. The whole concept is that you are in a movie set with rides. The set are usually popular amongst the audience.There are six theme parks here Hollywood, Production Central, New York, San Francisco / Amity, World Expo and the kid park namely Woodpecker’s Kidzone.
The Island of Adventure has seven distinct Island zone namely Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Lost Continent, Seuss Landing and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.The City Walk here has a bevy of shops and restaurantsand 20 screen Universal Cineplex. Check out its various cafes as well- Hard Rock Cafe, NBA City Cafe, NASCAR Café or its nightlife at Latin Quarter, The Groove, Pat O’Briens, Rising Star, Bob Marley’s, Red Coconut, and Cigarz.
Coming to the Universal Studio Rides in the five themed Island – Universal’s Islands of Adventures, which features five uniquely themed islands – Jurassic Park, The Lost Continent, Marvel Super Hero Island, Seuss Landing and Toon Lagoon, it is a roller coaster experience from start to finish. Try out the incredibly fast Incredible Hulk Coaster which moves at 40 miles per hour or the Dueling Dragons rides which is unique in the sense it is the world’s first dueling roller coaster. Take your pick from Ice Dragon or the Fire Dragon. It rides at a whooping 55 miles per hour basis. The Amazing adventures of Spiderman are a thrilling indoor experience with special 3 D effects of spiderman fighting villains. If heights give you the kick try out the Doctor Doom’s Fearfall where you are sent straight 150 feet high and then hurled back down. You can also try out the water based rides if you are okay with a little bit of water spilling here and there. Check out the Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls. Also the Jurassic Park River Adventure deserves a special mention in this category.
At the Universal Studios some other rides like the Revenge of the Mummy is a psychological ride where you have to face and fight an army of warrior mummies as you cruise through in a void in total darkness. Some other noteworthy rides are Twister, Disaster, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
